JDS was just GNOME with a Sun theme, and it was replaced by a
much newer GNOME with a different Sun theme, so it's mostly
still there - what is missing that you were looking for?
As for StarOffice, OpenSolaris provides OpenOffice.org in the
pkg repo, you just have to download it from the pkg manager.
