You can set the font with GUI. 1. Run gnome-terminal 2. Choose [Edit] -> [Profile Preferences] 3. Select [General] tab 4. Disable [Use the system fixed width font]. 5. Click [Monospace 12] button and choose the font. If you like to confiure the system fonts, /etc/fonts/* need to be modified.
