Now that I think about it, ISTR we turned off those icons by default
in Nevada builds going forward, both to simplify a patch and to make
the SXCE desktop more convergent with the OpenSolaris desktop (since,
at some ever-nearing point, the SXCE releases are going to go away
anyway.)

If you want those icons, you can turn them back on with the following
commands (or a bit more simply, by using the gconf-editor GUI, if you
have that installed):

% gconftool-2 -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/computer_icon_visible -t bool
true
% gconftool-2 -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/network -t bool true
% gconftool-2 -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/documents_icon_visible -t bool
true
% gconftool-2 -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/home_icon_visible -t bool true
