I'd say C++ development namely, because of the ABI issue.  In the context of
SDL and games, this is just how it is.  Or perhaps some piece of software
specifically developed using the GNU toolchain, with too many ins and outs
to warrant replumbing.  In some cases SunCC is faster, even on x86/x64, but
then again, if the difference is 10% speed, but the work required to make it
work exceeds time constraints or demands for labor in other areas, such as
actual r&d and improvements, it's just not a possibility.
