Hello desktop-discuss (cross posting to caiman-discuss)

I have installed OpenSolaris 2008.11 on a Dell Optiplex 9600.

When attempting to login attempt the Gnome desktop starts to come up
then the screen flashes and the system is hung. I need to reboot.

I logged in through a failsafe terminal

To capture the failure in the failsafe terminal I issued:

% gnome-cleanup
% gnome-session > gnome-session_out.txt 2>&1

gnome-session_out.txt is attached along with Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old

I think the issue may stem from:

"Client shut down the connection owned by im_id(1)."

I believe this is likely a bug. Before I file it I thought I would ask
if there are any recommendations on how to resolve this or gather more info.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
Joe VLcek
