Kaiwai,
It seems related to flash plugin.
To confirm this, can you do the following for us? (assume Firefox3 was
installed under /usr/lib/firefox3):
1. move /usr/lib/firefox3/plugins/flashplayer.xpt and
/usr/lib/firefox3/plugins/libflashplayer.so to
some other directory
2. start firefox
3. use gmail as usual
Does firefox crash?
To restore
move flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so back to /usr/lib/firefox3/plugins
