The Motif libraries are not going away.

Neither 'utswitch' nor 'utsettings' uses Motif. You might have
been thinking of 'utselect' and 'utwall' which both use CDE
programs. 'utselect' uses 'dtksh', which is one of the parts of
CDE that is not going away. 'utwall' uses 'dterror.ds', which is
another part of CDE that is not going away.

The most important Sun Ray programs that use Motif directly are
the NSCM login greeters. They also use one widget from a CDE
library, which I think is staying but I'll need to confirm that.

That's the biggest concern for Sun Ray. We know Sun Ray can work
with GDM (it runs with GDM on Linux) but we don't have a lot of
runtime against the GDM on Solaris so we don't know how solid it
will be. It might be fine, but I'd probably still stash away the
final set of Nevada CDE packages just in case.

Dated or not, S10 is still the only Solaris release officially
supported by Sun Ray. It's great that people are experimenting
with Sun Ray on Nevada and OpenSolaris, but if you want Sun
Support to take a call you should keep an S10 system in your back
pocket so that you can reproduce the problem there.
