It does indeed do a good job, it's an issue with the total memory the 
JDS environment with Evolution takes up.  There are certain instances 
where it won't be a good option, such as certain interoperability 
features, Smart Cards and Exchange 2007 for example is still not 
proven.  For me, it's fine, but I just use IMAP.
