Thanks for the reply but I'd like to know how to launch JDS gnome with 
the vncserver in SXDE 1/08. I've tried various commands in my 
~/.vnc/xstartup file, but when I connect to the server, I get a broken 
desktop. Some desktop icons are not correct, I don't see a java logo in 
the task bar, and the task bar menus are messed up. What should my 
xstartup file look like? Are there any other things I need to configure?
