If this in fact a bug, where's the CR?

There's also the following which may be related:

6349729 fc-cache crashes after upgrade in FT_Stream_ReadLong

fc-cache hasn't completed after an upgrade for me and others since snv_27
(there are 4 different service requests in that CR, and I know of others
who have run into it who haven't bothered to add service requests.)

Everytime I do a live-upgrade, fc-cache core dumps and I have to run
fc-cache manually in order for the Xorg service to start at first boot
(because the fc-cache SMF service goes into maintenance state, and the
Xorg service depends on it.) While this is a workaround, it's just
that... A workaround. This bug was filed in 2005, and there's ample
information available to root-cause and fix it (it's reproducible by
numerous people, there are lots of core files available, etc..). Can
this be addressed?
