Update: Well, the *core* GNOME platform/desktop binary packages are now updated at Blastwave (CSW) for GNOME 2.22.x. CSW GNOME 2.22.x should run on legacy SPARCv8-compatible and x86 hardware using Sun Solaris 8/9/10. Everything is still in the testing stage at the moment.
