It's true. But currently in Vermillion which build from Gnome2.22 (not 
sure which version is) GIO is built with --disable-fam to avoid the 
circle dependency -- gamin depend glib (gio) -- depend gamin. So the GIO 
monitor function shouldn't work if it also built with --disable-poll, 
while I presume it is true.

Gnome-menu should work on the old version of Vermillion which has the 
Gnome-VFS library.
