Thanks for all the info. I work in an environment where downloading/building software is problematic (closed network and all that) so working with binaries is preferred.
I took a glance at the package list and most of it appears to be x86 based. Not all of them have corresponding SPARC packages (my hardware baseline is SPARC based). This message posted from opensolaris.org
