Right, so we discussed this today. The issue is that the JDS builds are released on opensolaris.org almost as soon as they are built (after just a brief sanity test). We build JDS for snv_N on snv_N-2 (this is what most teams do), so our JDS build built on snv_N-2 hits opensolaris.org before snv_N-2 itself. The current behaviour of the install script is to require the OS build to be the same or newer than the one we built JDS on. So we can do 2 things about this: 1) Change the install script to warn about older nevada builds but allow to continue at your educated risk (; This is how people currently install our builds anyway, except they have to go and hack .pkginfo. 2) When we start working on GNOME 2.15.x (real soon now), we won't need to build on N-2 and we can adjust our build and release schedules so that the snv build we use is available on opensolaris.org by the time we release a JDS build that requires it.
