After doing an initial install of snv_46, clicking the orange "Start" button
(for want of a better description) at the left side of the panel, killed the
panel, which then restarted. This happened as both me and root. I could not
select logout, applications, etc. In a fit of brain fade, I removed the button
from the panel (as me, not root). Root still had the "Start" button, but me
didn't. I tried to find the config file that controlled this button but haven't
a clue .

So I reinstalled snv_46. Now the "Start" button in the root session works as it
should, but it is still absent in my own session. Obviously, the config file is
in my home directory which is zfs and the pool is exported during OS
installations, so desktop configuration doesn't change between installations.
Can someone please educate me as to where this config file is so I can fix my
problem. Your help is appreciated.
