I guess I'm using dtlogin. I don't know. Didn't the vermillion
install script change it for me? Presumably not.

Why does it rely on gdm anyway? I've used vanilla Xnest for this
sort of thing without any problems.

I worked that out, but that's not how xcalc, previous versions
of gnome calculator, or any of the calculators in my house
work. The way this works is that if you hit the sqrt button
it immediately does the sqrt operation on the current value.

I think the workaround is to uncheck the 'Use arithmetic
precedence' option. Then it behaves better, although it
is extremely cluttered. Overall the calculator has
regressed somewhat.

I know that. The point is that the menu item calls it something
else that is rather misleading.
