After installing SUNWfirefox-apoc-adapter package (from IPS) on OpenSolaris 2009.06 (updated to latest dev packages) and doing basic test it seems likely that this adapter wont work ...based on my understanding that libmozapoc.so should register (i.e. be listed) in compreg.dat in user's profile ...as per 'To Install the Firefox Adapter" section of the Sun Desktop Manager (SDM) 1.0.1 release notes from: http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/820-0424/820-0424.pdf ...and yes, I deleted compreg.dat after installing the adapter and then re-started the browser but no libmozapoc.so entry to be found. BTW, I know the SDM release notes are for an older version of Firefox and adapter but (for the moment) am assuming the adapter code (and behaviour) hasn't changed all that much since...
Is it possible that SUNWfirefox was built without support for libmozapoc.so or is this not required? (i.e. my reading about 'components' such as libmozapoc.so suggest they are built independent of the browser). I started to look at building my own libmozapoc.so (using latest SUNWfirefox.spec) but discovered the source code for SUNWfirefox-apoc-adapter (firefox-3.1-apoc-adapter.tar.bz2) is missing ...I've had a good look around but no luck yet so can anyone advise if this tarball is available please? -PKA -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
