Well, I don't really know if it's related with the problem you're
experiencing but since Nevada build 110 I'm experiencing font related
problems. Blastwave's Xine, for example, up to b110 always worked
fine. After live upgrading to b110 Xine started to core dump with this
message:
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4.
(c) 2000-2004 The xine Team.
xiTK WARNING(xitk_font_load_font:725): loading font
"*-helvetica-*-i-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" failed, default and system
fonts "xiTK received SIGSEGV signal, RIP.
Abort (core dumped)

Other programs started to misbehave printing messages such as
xiTK WARNING(xitk_font_load_font:725): loading font
"*-helvetica-*-i-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" failed, default and system
fonts "xiTK

Since then I tried to isolate the problem but could not. I also
reinstalled Nevada from scratch but the problem's always there. Last
time I checked it was with a vanilla b116 installation. I also
installed OpenSolaris 2008.11 as a VirtualBox guest, installed
Blastwave's xine IPS package but the issue was the same. Never tried
with the last OpenSolaris release but I suppose the same thing would
happen, after reading your mail. In the meantime, I installed a
virtualized Linux to use the misbehaving programs.
