Thanks much for your help. It seem I could fix my problem. When I invoked gconftool, I got the following error in stdout. (gconftool-2:18321): GConf-WARNING **: [ApocSource] Source apoc:readonly:mandatory@ is unavailable: Failed: [ApocPapi] Cannot initialise PAPI: PAPI Connection Failure. After I modified my /etc/gconf/2/path in snv_92 + vermillion_93, I could launch contact-lookup-applet. --- /etc/gconf/2/path.orig Thu Jul 3 18:58:14 2008 +++ /etc/gconf/2/path Thu Jul 3 18:20:32 2008 @@ -13,7 +13,7 @@ # wide sources in this file. include /etc/gconf/2/local-mandatory.path -apoc:readonly:mandatory@ +#apoc:readonly:mandatory@ # Now see where users want us to look - basically the user can stick arbitrary # sources in a ~/.gconf.path file and they're inserted here @@ -22,7 +22,7 @@ # Give users a default storage location, ~/.gconf xml:readwrite:$(HOME)/.gconf -apoc:readonly: +#apoc:readonly: # To read in any defaults settings that the Sys Admin may have created # prior to a desktop system upgrade.
