First, we do appreciate it when users from the community report issues
and bugs they notice with our development releases. However, to set
expectations, you should be aware that the development releases are,
by nature, unstable and tend to have bugs. It is not uncommon for
things to break in vermillion-devel releases. You probably shouldn't
use the vermillion-devel release if you need a well-tested, stable
desktop. Instead, it is intended for users who want a bleeding edge
desktop, and who don't mind the occasional inconveniences associated
with using it. It is also intended for people who want to be involved
with helping to develop the desktop code.

The OpenSolaris Desktop team and community works to fix these sorts of
bugs as we notice them, but it is not uncommon for such bugs to take a
few builds to fix.

I know that we do not archive the latest "stable" build on the
OpenSolaris download site. However, I am not sure it would be useful
to provide this, since the Vermillion releases are closely tied to the
version of the kernel that we integrate it with. In other words, the
last stable Vermillion build we integrated into the last OpenSolaris
release probably would not install cleanly on older SXCE/SXDE builds due
to changes in imported interfaces. So if you want the latest stable
release, I would recommend to simply install the last OpenSolaris
release.
