No the problem was in fact the xrender issue, and the patch referenced earlier did solve the problem. I presume this is Sparc only because of the dependence on Xsun. I hope the patch will be sent back through the mozilla group so it gets incorporated into the trunk. The patch also needs to go into thunderbird 3.x, and since its not really in sync with firefox 3.x it took a little bit of struggle. This message posted from opensolaris.org
