OpenSolaris is not Solaris 11. In order to preserve binary compatibility, any future release of Solaris 11 would need to ship Motif. I am pretty sure Motif has not been EOL'ed or EOF'ed. Only CDE is being removed from future Solaris releases. As Glynn mentioned, Sun will likely release Motif and other interesting non-free components which can be installed on top of OpenSolaris so users running things like Pro-Engineer can work in the OpenSolaris world. Also, there is some discussion that it would be nice to integrate OpenMotif into OpenSolaris. Since OpenMotif is probably better supported these days, the ProEngineer folks might have an interest in moving towards using it. Better yet, would they consider switching to GTK+? Might be good to ask the ProEngineer folks if they have a plan for future support on OpenSolaris that is better than requiring users to install the Motif add-on (which is not yet available). Brian
