In /var/log/Xorg.0.log, which keyboard driver is reported? On mine: (II) config/hal: Adding input device System keyboard (II) LoadModule: "kbd" (II) Loading /usr/X11/lib/modules/input/amd64//kbd_drv.so .... (**) Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30" This is without a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
