There have been a rash of recently filed bugster CR's and doo bugs
regarding the fact that progrmas which depend on the "Console User"
profile being set properly is not working as expected.

In short, this causes problems with running programs like NWAM,
configuring printers, being able to run the GNOME CD burning application
brasero, and it causes the shutdown dialog to not work properly.

A workaround is to modify /etc/user_attr so users that need the "Console
User" profile are assigned that profile directly. For example, if you
add a line to the file as follows, then the "username" specified will
have "Console User" privileges and these programs should then work
when logged in as that user.

username::::type=normal;profiles=Console User
