It still seems to be slow even after disabling global indexing. The tab feature is buggy too. Should bugs that are generic to Thunderbird be filed on the Thunderbird bugzilla or posted on defect .opensolaris.org to be sent upstream? In particular there seems not to be any way to disable the tab feature entirely and this has been discussed extensively, for example, on forums.mozillazine,org. IMO this is a solution looking for a problem and there needs to be a way of getting rid of it... Thanks
