Hello Paul, We had an interesting discussion regarding this issue on the desktop-discuss forum from January to October 2006. Several Sun people plus others jumped in to make comments, to include:
myself vincent.quigley at sun.com Robert.Doolittle at Sun.COM Brian.Nitz at Sun.COM John Martinez Laszlo.Peter at Sun.COM Matt.Keenan at Sun.COM Damien.Carbery at Sun.COM Paul Gress Christof.Pintaske at Sun.COM Calum.Benson at Sun.COM Ken Mays Iain.MacDonnell at Sun.COM christian.kelly at sun.com When the discussion was taking place, NVU - http://www.nvu.com/ seemed a viable product and a viable target for a WYSIWYG HTML editor on Solaris. Currently, IMHO, this project is dead. From a non-related thread, NetBeans as an WYSIWYG HTML editor seemed like a great idea also. http://blogs.sun.com/winston/entry/web_page_designer_for_netbeans TTBOMK, this didn't go anywhere either. You should be able to go through the archives if you want to review comments from the top discussion item(s). If not, I could manually forward those to you off list if you are interested.
