Hello,

Carsten Haitzler (Rasterman) has annouced [1] that the libraries (named
Enlightenment Foundation Libraries , EFL in short) on which Enlightenment
0.17 is based will be soon released as 1.0.0 alpha. Which means that the API
will be fixed soon and we can expect a release of Enlightenment 0.17 six
months later as alpha too.

Since several months, i decided to try to run e17 on Opensolaris. I try to
keep a wiki up to date [2] but with all the modifications in the svn, it
could need some love...

This mail is more about the EFL rather than e17 itself. They are targetting
graphics (fast canvas library (evas), powerful design and layout library
(edje)) and more general calls (main loop, events, file system, network,
etc... (ecore)), a toolkit (elementary). For more information, there are
some documentation on the website [3].

If some people are interested in trying them, feel free to ask me more
questions.

Also, i'm not an Opensolaris user (I run it in virtualbox, sorry ;-) ) so
I'm not aware on how to do packages. If some people are also interested in
making packages for Opensolaris, i can provide some help too.

thank you

Vincent Torri
