Also people reported that Skype is working from inside Linux Zone but
only for text chatting.
You could try running it also form Virtualbox..
but I suggest you try and use openSource program:  ekiga 
(seen after install from Package manager as "Video Conference" :)
More people come to ekiga (They can also use noumerous other standard
SIP: clients)
less trouble you will have in the future.
