> Is USB 3 planned?

Do plans get talked about without approval from some near the top of the
hierarchy since Oracle took over?

If I wanted to guess, I'd find out about availability of chipset support,
based on successors to the chipsets Sun/Oracle uses now, along with it
likely not being all that high priority insofar as enterprise servers probably
wouldn't be using fast USB devices (mostly storage and/or video) much.

Assuming USB 3 really catches on (not that widespread yet, AFAIK),
it might have to happen eventually,
perhaps not until it was easier/cheaper to find a chipset with USB 3
support than without. Perhaps if there were a successor to the Ultra 27
workstation (which I wonder about since it's hard to find on the
web site, since desktops aren't a top-level item and it's not listed under
desktops anymore), it might happen sooner.

But that's just my guessing strategy. I doubt anyone who knows would
be allowed to tell you until there's an official announcement.
