Since I didn't get a copy of the message I sent yesterday I'm
presuming it didn't arrive?
Here my response to the previous question:

sudo conary q glibc --troves

glibc=2.3.6-8-0.1[~glibc.tls]
  glibc:doc=2.3.6-8-0.1[~glibc.tls]
  glibc:lib=2.3.6-8-0.1[~glibc.tls]
  glibc:locale=2.3.6-8-0.1[~glibc.tls]
  glibc:runtime=2.3.6-8-0.1[~glibc.tls]

I guess that means the glibc stuff is there. I have searched on the
error "checking for C compiler default output file name... configure:
error: C compiler cannot create executables" have tried CC=gcc-3.4.4,
export CC, ldconfig, checking PATH and a few other things but nothing
helps. I still get that error. Thanks for the response. I'll keep
searching...
(Results of more searching) Maybe this is a PATH problem?
 whereis gcc
gcc: /usr/bin/gcc /usr/lib/gcc /usr/libexec/gcc
/usr/share/man/man1/gcc.1.gz
 echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin

When I try to do export PATH=$PATH:/usr/lib:/usr/libexec I get back
export command not found. Yes, I'm doing that as root. I'll have to
start up again tommorow(tired). Thanks in advance for any ideas.
