Title:
gnome system monitor hangs after the "processes" tab is clicked on

Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and gnome-system-monitor 2.28.1-1ubuntu1. I
expected to see the "Processes" tab contents after I clicked on it.
Instead, the application hung: other tabs, menu items and "Close"
button of the window didn't respond to clicks, the charts froze. The
issue occurred only after clicking on the "Processes" tab: the rest of
the tabs as well as menu items didn't cause the hanging. The
application could be forced to quit with the help of "Force Quit"
button, the "killall" command and on system prompt. I could only
relaunch the monitor after closing it with the "killall" command. The
bug reoccurred after every system restart. The same bug was caused by
ticking "Solaris Mode" in the "Processes" tab of the configuration
interface. The rest of the check-boxes didn't cause the issue.
  Complete re-installation didn't help.
