** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 978762 Thunderbird starts in unusable state -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973256 Title: Thunderbird starts in unusable state Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm on an up-to-date Precise beta. Approximately 30% of the time that I start Thunderbird, it starts in the state shown in the attached screenshot - no accounts shown, no mailboxes shown, etc. Closing the application and restarting it will fix the problem (in my experience this has never happened twice in a row - the restart has always come up as expected). Closing the application is also the only way I have been able to work around it - clicking on any of the actions shown in the screenshot has no effect. I have not been able to determine any common pattern of when this happens and when it doesn't, and cannot reproduce it reliably. Happy to help debug if you wish though.
