A log out - log in cycle fixed it, but then it came back in some time.

So far, no idea what triggered it.

Title:
Scrolling stopped working in nautilus and some other ubuntu windows

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In nautilus, and some other windows such as update-manager, two finger
scrolling, and even edge scrolling, using the touchpad stopped working all of a
sudden.
  Two things to note.
  1. It DOES work when I put the mouse to right edge of the screen. Two finger
scrolling and edge scrolling work, just as well as grabbing the scrolling bar.
  2. It works fine in Chrome, or Firefox or any other window as it used to.

  Using ubuntu 12.04.
It was working fine until a day or two ago. Stopped after some update.
Happens in both unity and gnome 3.
