Title:
Replace spread mode with window previews

Bug description:
  Feature request:
Replace the spread mode with window previews.

  The spread mode is:
Annoying: because of the zoom-out and zoom-in animation.
Intrusive: because the whole screen changes.
Tedious and inefficient: Because it takes too much time to switch between
windows.

Because switching between open windows of the same application is
something you have to do often, it's very important that this works as
  efficient as possible.

  I propose the following solution:
Instead of showing the spread mode, show all the open windows of the same
application as window previews near the application icon in the panel.

(This only needs to work when two or more windows of an application
  are open)

Imagine two or more windows previews horizontally of vertically
aligned at the right side of the application icon.

When you want to switch between two or more windows of the same
application you simply go the the application icon and the window
previews are shown. You than just select the window you want and off
  you go! Simple!

  Window previews are:
Not annoying : because there are no animations.
Not intrusive: the whole screen doesn't need to change.
Efficient: Because the animation is not necessary: time is saved.

  I added some mock-ups: see comment 3, 4, 5 and 6.
