When I open a chat window, that window also uses over 300MB of RAM. This puts Empathy at over half a gig of usage just on load. I just updated to 12.04 from 11.10. The problem started immediately after the update. I have a Facebook account, two Yahoo accounts, a GTalk account, an MSN account and an AIM account configured.
