I still have this same problem when using a bluetooth headset. It connects, I can actually use it to send the sound output to it by means of the output setting in the Gnome Control Panel, but when I try to direct the input (from the headset microphone) to the computer using the input tab in the sound settings (Gnome Control Panel) the application crashes and closes immediatly. I am able to reproduce this everytime. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS now with all updates to date (May 6th 2012).
