Jack Leigh, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please attach an example file that demonstrates this problem?
** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/785790 Title: libreoffice not registered to open .rtx files Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: libreoffice Sample file attached, downloaded from the National Trust jobs website. As far as I can tell it is an .rtf file by another name (possibly another mimetype). Opens fine in LibO or MS Word 2007 when extension is changed and Word 2007 can open the .rtx directly. It seems to be a valid extension/mimetype so LibO should advertise that it can open the file/treat it as .rtf.
