> This issue seems to be gone in Karmic. Can anyone confirm?

I found this bug while searching for another one. It's not a problem for
me, but in Ubuntu 12.04 (Unity) I experience almost the same behaviour
as specified in the description. The only difference is, that a file /
folder is focused in Nautilus only when I manually focused one before
(between steps 2 and 3).

Title:
Focus is moved from desktop to window

Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts:

Status in Nautilus:
  Confirmed
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Focus (aka the selection) is moved from desktop to a open folder
  window.

  To reproduce:
  - Create a file on your desktop
  - Open a Nautilus window (like; Places -> Home folder)
  - Select the new file on your desktop
  - Hold Shift down and press the delete key
  - In the dialogbox, press Cancel

The focus is now moved from the desktop to the folder window. Which
means if you press delete again (without shift), you will delete the
first folder in the window! The same issue does not occure when the
  folder window is minimized.

(Sorry for the vage description in the summary)
