ok, so you request was to be able to change the hostname, not to be able to unlock, that's bug #962369 (basically that relies on hostnamed which is a systemd service) to be installed, we will look at fix that for quantal either by installing those services (they don't require systemd to be used as an init system) or by adding the method to ubuntu-system- services
