Steps to reproduce: 1. Use xinerama with the second screen to the right of the first. 2. Add a vertical gnome panel to the right edge of the left screen. 3. maximize a window in the left screen. 4. The screen is maximized right to the edge of the screen, instead of the edge of the panel.
