This bug also effects me. I get the same error message when trying to access the Amazon MP3 store from within Banshee. When I run it in debug mode from the terminal I also see the line "[15 Debug 23:12:15.908] DAAP Proxy listening for connections on port 8089". Why is Banshee trying to use a proxy in the first place?
This feature used to work, and I have used it many times before. It must be related to some recent change. ** Changed in: banshee (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to banshee in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005636 Title: Amazon store does not open, no streaming internet radio Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1-Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 2-banshee: Installed: 2.4.0-2ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.4.0-2ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.4.0-2ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3-Streaming internet radio non responsive 4-Amazon music store Error message: Unable to load page Problem occurred while loading the URL https://one.ubuntu.com/music/store/amz/geo/home/ Cannot resolve proxy hostname () ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: banshee 2.4.0-2ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.39-generic 3.2.16 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon May 28 11:54:31 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release i386 (20111012) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: banshee UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/1005636/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
