Title:
[ZTE MF626] Connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

Network-Manager drops the connection whenever the modem (ZTE MF626) tries to
switch the modes between 2G and 3G.
After the connection is dropped I cannot "dial" the connection again (because
it disappears from the network-manager and stops responding) then it's
necessary to unplug/plug the device so it can be recognized.
Looking at the /var/log/messages, I got the following output:

  Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Modem hangup
  Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Connect time 52.5 minutes.

  Additional Information:
I'm currently using Ubuntu 'Lucid' but I'm experiencing this bug since Ubuntu
'Karmic' in my desktop and my netbook aswell.
Besides, I think the Network-Manager is lacking an option to change manually
between 2G and 3G networks.
