Note that I also tried this with Karmic Koala, where there was the same problem, while the problem didn't existed in Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope (indeed it showed up when I did the upgrade: Jaunty -> Karmic, and didn't get fixed when I upgraded again Karmic -> Lucid).
