LOOOOOL - This problem has been going on for 8 years Mozilla & yet we
are still suffering this problem....Looks like we'll be going back to
outlook express :-( I've found no fix for this at all.

Nice try Mozilla but this is just as annoying as the "using 1.3gb of RAM
for a Google search" problem in Firefox.

Title:
Wrong E-Mail displayed in message pane

Status in Mozilla Thunderbird Mail and News:
  Invalid
Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

Message filter applied to an account, set to copy mail from a specific
sender to a folder associated with a different mail account.

The filter triggers, and the display in the copy-to folder has the
right message header info (sender, subject, date), but when you
double-click on that email, it opens a different older mail from that
folder. View all headers shows header information is consistent with
  the wrong email.

Other emails open normally from both folders, and the original email
in the copy-from folder opens normally.
