Title: [region]: does not modify /etc/default/keyboard Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After fresh installation of Ubuntu 12.04 I have changed the settings of switching between keyboard layouts. Unfortunately the new settings work maximum until a reboot or even some applications stop usage of the new settings during current session. Some investigations show up that file "/etc/default/keyboard" was not modified during implementation of settings. After manual change of the file switch between layouts works as expected, but further attempts to change toggle combination of keys or keyboard indicator for layouts via gnome-control-center do not work. --- ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu11 Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu0.3 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-27.43-generic 3.2.21 Tags: precise Uname: Linux 3.2.0-27-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo vboxusers usr_lib_gnome-control-center: activity-log-manager-control-center 0.9.4-0ubuntu3 deja-dup 22.0-0ubuntu2 gnome-bluetooth 3.2.2-0ubuntu5 indicator-datetime 0.3.94-0ubuntu2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1022488/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
