I realized this when enabling the fake-distro environment variable to pretend I was running under precise. I've included a screenshot of the problem, where you can see that Bastion is "US$ US$ 18.99". On a related note, why is it "US$ 18.99" instead of "US $18.99"? Americans never put a space between the numbers and dollar sign.
