Title:
Packages for purchase appear with double "US$" signs

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
Packages that you buy started appearing with prices like "US$ US$
5.99" in the software center in quantal a while ago. I realized this
when enabling the fake-distro environment variable to pretend I was
  running under precise.

I've included a screenshot of the problem, where you can see that
  Bastion is "US$ US$ 18.99".

On a related note, why is it "US$ 18.99" instead of "US $18.99"?
Americans never put a space between the numbers and dollar sign.
