apport information ** Description changed:
I have a TP-Link TL-WN821N, which I use with windows without issue. It works in Ubuntu however suddenly the Network manager process locks up and crashes, occasionally with a stacktrace (an example is attached). This happens randomly with no warning, and needs the system reset to correct the issue and start the key working again. I originally had the issue using the ar9170usb driver, and followed the advice in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/540827 in the hope I could use carl9170 (http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/carl9170) rather than ar9170usb. However, once I blacklisted the ar9170usb driver, I get: Sep 9 17:10:49 ethel kernel: [ 310.170984] cfg80211: Updating information on frequency 2412 MHz for a 20 MHz width channel with regulatory rule I had been led to believe that the ar9170usb had been removed from the Kernel in 3.0+ (http://wiki.debian.org/carl9170) but it appeared to be there on my system as the driver was being used ... Does this mean it is actually using cfg80211 rather than carl9170? If this is correct how do I get it to adjust? Thanks for any help, this is a bit of a blocker at the moment for me!
