Title:
Wireless network keeps reconnecting (ubuntu edgy)

Status in NetworkManager:
  Expired
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  Hi!

I upgraded my laptop from Dapper to Edgy a few days ago, and have
since then had a problem with the wireless network. The problem is
that the wireless network will reconnect periodically with intervals
from a few seconds and upward (a connection usually lasts between 5
and 15-20 minutes before it happens again). Usually the reconnection
is quick enough that existing network connections are not interrupted,
  but sometimes that happens too.

Some Googling on similar issues seems to indicate that the
reconnection can be triggered by Networkmanager trying to scan for
APs, but I certainly cannot prove anything. I don't know enough about
wireless networking to be able to completely understand what gets
written to the system logs either, unfortunately (see link below).

The laptop in question is an LG LW20, an Intel Centrino-based thing with
Intel2200 wireless card (uses ipw2200 driver). The wireless network was rock
solid using Dapper, same configuration as now with Edgy.
I use knetworkmanager to configure the network, which uses WPA/AES (the same
problem exists using WPA/TKIP and WPA2/AES, btw).

My wireless router is a Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT firmware, but I
doubt that the router is the guilty one, since the same setup worked
perfectly when Dapper was installed on the laptop.

Here is what gets written in the daemon log when the reconnection happens:
  http://hem.passagen.se/l71/daemonlog-excerpt.txt

  OS & software versions involved:
Edgy Eft, current updates as of 5th october,
  network-manager 0.6.3-2ubuntu5
  knetworkmanager 0.1-0ubuntu1
  wpa-supplicant 0.5.4-5
  ipw2200 version 1.1.2
  ieee80211 stack version git-1.1.13

Please let me know if there is anything more I can do to help,
  increase debug info levels, etc.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
  Lars
