The zero-border xterm evinces no rendering problems, but the top-right xterm seems confused about where the cursor is, failing to erase it fully as I type (normally a solid white block, customized locally to a solid red block) and the background image is visible through the frame in a rather interesting manner. Various other standard X clients (e.g., xmag, xfontsel) behave similarly, and in each case running them with -bw 0 eliminates the glitches.
