I'm ambivalent on whether the icons should be retained. On the one hand, (non-document) tabs shouldn't have both icons and text in their titles. On the other, tabs aren't scalable to future connection types, multiple network adapters, etc, so I think they eventually should change from tabs to a listbox, and that listbox should use icons.
... Anyway, in bug 541882 the equivalent problem in the Sound Preferences was fixed while retaining the icons. Basically: - ubuntu-mono should provide icons with names like -wired-panel, -wireless-panel, and -wwan-panel - the network menu should use those icons - Humanity or Hicolor should provide icons with names like -wired, -wireless, and -wwan - the Edit Connections window should use those icons. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/834495 Title: Edit Connections tabs have wrong-color mono icons Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “ubuntu-mono” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Click Edit Connections in the network menu. The tabs use the ubuntu- mono icons except that the background is light so the icons are hard to distinguish on Ambiance. Either the icons should be over-ridden to always show dark icons (ubuntu-mono-light) or the icons should just be disabled.
